Keys

Every binding in bushel's help overlay, plus the keys used by its other prompts.

Press ? inside bushel for this same list without leaving the terminal. The table is generated from bushel v0.3.6 and matches the rows in its help overlay. The overlay closes with esc, q, ?, or m; q and esc also appear in the global and detail rows below.

The groups describe what each binding acts on. j/k and g/G move the selection while the list is focused, then scroll the detail pane once enter has moved focus there. l and i switch the detail tab without leaving the list, though they need the containers pane; F also needs the Logs tab whose follow it toggles.

Contextual keys

Some keys belong to a prompt or screen instead of the help table. In a confirmation prompt, y runs the action and n or esc cancels it. Pull, tag, and create-volume dialogs accept text, enter submits it, backspace deletes a character, and esc closes the dialog.

After / starts a list filter, type to narrow the active pane, use backspace to edit, enter to leave filter input, or esc to clear it. In the settings panel opened with ,, j/k or the up/down arrows move between rows, and enter, space, h, l, or the left and right arrows change the selected setting. q, ,, or esc closes that panel.

The message log (m) and help overlay (?) scroll with j/k or the up/down arrows, PageUp/PageDown, and g/G for the top or bottom. esc, q, ? or m closes either overlay. Confirmation prompts use those same scrolling keys to reveal long command previews without confirming them.

When actions, a pull, prune or service start are still running, q opens a prompt listing the commands. Press w to wait for completion and then quit, q again to quit now, or esc to cancel the prompt or wait. Scroll that command list with j/k, the up/down arrows or PageUp/PageDown. While waiting, new actions are disabled. Ctrl-C quits immediately from any screen. A forced exit reports interrupted commands after restoring the terminal; check their outcomes before retrying.

If the container service is down, s starts it, m opens the message log, and q requests quit. The missing-CLI screen accepts m and q; restart bushel after making container available on PATH.

The keys that need the list focused are /, enter, space and the action letters. Those letters are filtered to what the selection can actually do, so one that appears inert usually means the action does not apply here. Troubleshooting covers the rest of what can look broken.
